Crossing the
Barriers
Introduction
In this world today,
we in the English speaking countries are fed on a constant diet
of “Moslems are bad, evil people”. They are to be avoided,
rejected, opposed and stopped in their tracks. We “christians”
(yes small c) are so much better that we deserve because of our
righteousness. The media outlets seem to frequently exploit some
aspect of this deception. Our fear and hostility is fed and
nurtured, even within the Christian church. Is it any wonder that
terrorism has found fertile soil in which to grow? Then along
comes an author with an intimate knowledge and background of
contact with Moslems. A person born and bred in the Arab world
yet someone who has been in Christian ministry for over 30 years.
The author reveals a refreshingly simple approach to the question
of how to relate to Moslems. The approach, presented here, I have
not observed in any other contemporary author. It is what I
expect Jesus would do and what I believe He would have us do on
His behalf.
I recommend the book as
a refocus for us all. If the Christian world applied these
principles the problem of terrorism & even Islam itself would
quickly fade. These principles are so universal that they are
appropriate for all peoples. I am pleased to recommend this
book and give honour to its Author and to George.
Why
another Book? With the move of the Holy Spirit in this
time of History and the Lord restoring the Apostolic authority
inside and outside the Church, I believe the time is now to reach
out to all the World, including the Muslim World and witness the
great work of the Holy Spirit in the life of Muslims today. The
Christian people are not ready to reach out to Muslims,
especially the Christians who live in the western world. God’s
heart's desire is to equip Christians around the world to win
millions of Muslims for Jesus. The Church has a wrong
understanding about the commission of Jesus. And for political
reasons it’s not reaching Muslims. Many Church leaders are
too busy preaching about the prophecy of the last days and
ignoring evangelising Muslims. The Church is busy preaching
personal prosperity (the American Gospel) instead of preaching
the Gospel of Jesus. The western Churches have become part of the
problem instead of being part of the solution in dealing with
Muslims. Many friends and believers have asked me to write
this book, so the Church:
a)Will
be set free from the fear and misunderstanding Islam. b)Will
find help and wisdom to reach out and touch Muslims. c)Will
gain better understanding of Muslims and Islam. d)Will learn
practical methods to communicate with Muslims. e)Will learn to
be a bridge builder to the Muslim culture.
Muslims are in our midst. What should we do
about them? Do we neglect them or love them and reach them with
the Gospel of Jesus. We should not be like the leaders in the
time of Jesus, isolating ourselves from the people. Some Churches
have never tried to reach Muslims. Today if you invite a Muslim
to Church what Gospel will he hear?
